You would like to know about theCakeWorks?

Well, it began life in 2004 and is owned and run by cake designer Karen Gay.  Karen’s simple aim is to give customers innovative and highly personal celebration cakes that can’t be bought off-the-shelf.

Since starting we have produced cakes for the obvious… weddings, birthdays and Christenings, the rare… graduations and baby showers, but the unusual as well… including divorce cakes!

Why buy a hand-made celebration cake?

Well we produce a completely unique and personalised cake that will reflect you, your celebration and impress your guests.  Factory produced cakes simply can’t provide this extra design, care and attention.

We take account of your ideas about what you want for your design and help with ideas and suggestions when you need some cake inspiration.

theCakeWorks’  bakes every cake on the premises for each order and we don’t produce a “stock range” of products.  Occasionally customers ask us to decorate cakes made by family and friends often to a secret recipe and we are happy to talk to you about this. We have recipes for Coeliac (gluten-free), nut allergy and lactose intolerance.

Because our cakes are made to order, we can be highly creative with the designs and this makes for a really thoughtful and considerate gift when it comes to a celebration.  We have a number of repeat customers who regularly commission cake designs for family celebrations because each one is highly individual and personalised for the occasion.

theCakeWorks specialises in modelling in icing and this can range from individual characters and figures, often charactertures taken from photos as a surprise, to fully sculptured cake designs.
