It seems that cupcakes don’t go out of fashion and their fans cover every age range – mums think that they are great for party bags, teenagers love them for their “individuality” and kids love them because they are just for them.

One of the good things about them is it means that they can be shared out as a gift or given to individuals for special reasons: sometimes it’s because one person has an intolerance like a nut allergy, or are a Coeliac; others because they want everyone at their celebration to have individual names or decorations. No one feels left out and everyone feels special.

Pretty in Pink 21st Birthday cupcakes!

Pink and girly was the request for these little beauties, with a candle and 21 for the birthday girl! All of the dozen cakes were gluten-free vanilla sponge cupcakes with piped butter icing so they could be enjoyed by both the coeliacs and non-coeliacs at the party.

Excellent as a last-minute option as they can be made at a day or two’s notice if my workload permits!

Little Miss Sunshine 21st birthday cake

I was a bit worried about getting the shape of this birthday cake just right but everything turned out fine.

Little Miss Sunshine was a special request for Catherine’s 21st birthday from her parents…

Just to say thanks again for the spectacular Little Miss Sunshine cake – it looked absolutely great – fabulous detail, as well as tasting so good. Catherine loved it – we all did – especially the nutella filling! And it’ll keep us going all day today too….looking forward to our next big celebration …

Rachel’s parents wanted a very special 21st birthday cake for their daughter and came up with the idea of one in the shape of her favourite childhood teddy… which is still around if a little worse for wear.
