Wedding cakes in Durham
One of the cakes for last weekend was a wedding cake for Claire & John.
Claire’s idea was for an elegant three-tier design with each cake tier offset with the icing figures of the newly weds sitting together. The wedding cake tiers were fruit cake (supplied by the bride’s father), vanilla sponge and lemon sponge. While we chatted about the design, they came across some of my other cake designs and decided that their pet dog Rocky just had to be featured too!
With the wedding colour theme being white and claret red we agreed to keep the use of colour to a minimum, so the cake was finished off with red ribbon, the brides red rose bouquet and Rocky’s red bow tie which was part of his wedding outfit!
Claire and John’s wedding reception was held at The Morritt Hotel, Greta Bridge.
